July Book Discussion - Monday, July 20th at 7 p.m. - Read Nadeem Aslam's Maps for Lost Lovers, sign up today and reserve your copy of the book, then join us for a lively discussion of the book.

Children's Summer Reading Program!!!

Each year, the Lavenia McCoy Public Library joins thousands of other libraries across the United States in the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CLSP). The goal is to provide high quality activities that will encourage children to read, help them develop positive attitudes about reading, and enable children to maintain their reading skills during summer vacation.

This year's program for children is Be Creative @ Your Library. Click HERE for a Summer Reading Program brochure which outlines all our fun and creative events!

You can register at the Circulation Desk. Childrens ages 0 to 18 may register and will receive a Be Creative at Your Library bag and reading record folder, as well as a small gift. It's time to READ!!!

Songwriting with Andy Hackbarth! - Tuesday, July 7th at 10 a.m. at the Bayfield Elementary School Gym (511 East Mustang, Bayfield) - Come help Andy compose his next song! This program is geared towards children age 7 and up. See you there!

Melanie Milborn! - Friday, July 10th at 10 a.m. at the Library - Melanie has been writing songs for over 20 years and has taught preschoolers for 15. Her original songs emphasize the unique qualities in children and focus on everyday aspects of young lives. Don't miss this event - it's perfect for kids of all ages!

Yoga for Kids! - Tuesday, July 14th at 10 a.m. - This popular meditative exercise helps kids get centered and be more aware of their breathing. Taught by Charlotte Lenssen - this even will take place at the Bayfield Elementary School Gym, 511 East Mustang, and is co-sponsored by the Bayfield Family Center.

Teens and 'Tweens Summer Reading Program!!!

The Teens and 'Tweens Summer Reading Program is open to teens and 'tweens, 6th grade and up. The program is FREE and sure to be a blast! This year's theme is Express Yourself @ Lavenia McCoy Public Library. Click HERE for a listing of all the events!

Songwriting with Andy Hackbarth! - Tuesday, July 7th at 1 p.m. at the Bayfield Elementary School Gym (511 East Mustang, Bayfield) - Learn the art of songwriting with Andy Hackbarth - and help compose his next song. When you're finished he'll email you the final version. This program is geared towards teens and 'tweens ages 12 and up. See you there!
